Whale Migration Season

In this region (southern zone, Costa Rica in the OSA canton), we are very lucky to have a double whale migration season. From August to November the humpback whales come up from the South and from December through April a different group comes down from the North. Both groups are seeking warmer waters in order to give birth to their young. Recently, Karen Rusch organized a small group to go whale watching near Caño Island. They were very fortunate to see pods of whales with their calves.
